NHMAImplementing Gilbert White's Vision: Moving Hazards Mitigation Forward

Meeting on Forming a National Mitigation Collaborative Alliance

Tuesday, July 13 through Wednesday, July 14, 2010

The Natural Hazard Mitigation Association, in partnership with the Natural Hazards Center, will sponsor a meeting on forming a new national mitigation collaborative alliance following the main Hazards Workshop.

Last year, the National Emergency Management Association released "Recommendations for an Effective National Mitigation Effort," which the NHMA recently endorsed. The NHMA is now calling upon practitioners to come together and discuss how to best implement NEMA's recommendations, especially the recommendation to "Form a National Mitigation Collaborative Alliance."

All Natural Hazards Workshop invitees are welcome to participate. Register for the NHMA add-on meeting using the main Workshop online registration. A continental breakfast and a lunch of sandwiches and deli salads are included in the registration cost.

Schedule

The NHMA Meeting on Forming a National Mitigation Collaborative will run concurrently with the IRCD Researchers Meeting. The two meetings will share a reception, continental breakfast, lunch, and beverage service during breaks, giving researchers and practitioners additional opportunities to socialize and exchange ideas.
