Goldhammer is a certified emergency manager and president of the International Association of Emergency Managers Region VII. He currently does consulting work for WeatherCall, a severe weather notification system and emergency preparedness for Dewberry. Before joining Dewberry, he was the EMA director for Polk County, Iowa, a volunteer member of the Ithaca, New York, Fire Department, and an assistant chief of operations with the Hillsborough County, Florida, Emergency Medical Services.

Goldhammer has participated in the development of the Federal Gulf Coast Hurricane Evacuation Plan for the State of Louisiana, the Coastal Regional Evacuation and Sheltering Plan for the State of North Carolina, and the Critical Transportation Needs Program for the State of Alabama.

He has a master’s degree in teachers in geosciences from Mississippi State University and holds a Certified Business Continuity Professional Certification from the Disaster Recovery Institute International. Goldhammer is also a member of the National Weather Service National StormReady Board.
