Adrienne Greve is an assistant professor in the City and Regional Planning Department at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Beginning in September 2010, she will serve as project manager for development of a California climate adaptation policy guide in collaboration with the California Emergency Management Agency, California Natural Resources Agency, and local jurisdictions.
The effort aims to develop a guide for interpreting climate science and prioritizing adaptive measures for California communities.

Greve also participates in the development of a climate change mitigation and adaptation guide for the Asia-Pacific region through UN-HABITAT and the International Urban Training Center. In addition to climate action planning, Greve’s research focuses on urban ecology, urban hydrology, and stormwater management. Greve developed draft Climate Action Plans for the City of Benicia, CA and the City of San Luis Obispo, CA. The plan developed for the City of Benicia was adopted in September 2009 and received an award of merit from the California American Planning Association.

Greve received her undergraduate degree in bioresource engineering from Colorado State University and her master’s degree in agriculture and biological engineering from Cornell University. She earned her Ph.D. from the Interdisciplinary Program in Urban Design and Planning and the Urban Ecology Program at the University of Washington (UW). Before attending UW she worked as a surface-water hydrologist for the U.S. Geological Survey.
