Heather McDermott

Heather McDermott has been a coordinator at the Adams County Office of Emergency Management for nearly five years. During her time at Adams County, McDermott has been locally and nationally recognized for her work developing and teaching emergency planning for special needs facilities. Heather also works closely with daycare facilities and schools to improve training and coordination efforts.

Before working for Adams County, McDermott was with the City & County of Broomfield for more than three years. She is a graduate of the Gonzaga School of Law and has been a licensed attorney for more than 10 years. In her role as attorney, she has coordinated the Annual Legal Issues in Emergency Management seminar. McDermott is now working on a master’s in public administration, with an emphasis in disaster management.
