Randall Akers
For the past ten years, Randy Akers has served as the administrator for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Northern Plains Office of Native American Programs (NPONAP). NPONAP provides a wide range of housing and community development assistance to 33 federally recognized tribal governments in a seven state region, comprised of Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska.
For 21 years before joining NPONAP, Akers was associate field counsel for the San Francisco and Phoenix HUD Office of Native American Programs, serving as the principal point of legal contact for HUD programs delivered to 172 tribes in the western United States. He is a member of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma.
