Abby Córdova is a research associate of political science at Vanderbilt University and director of the Latin American Public Opinion Project’s (LAPOP) Field Experiment Research on Impact Evaluation.

Her research focuses on the effects of crime, poverty, and economic inequality on citizens’ political attitudes and behaviors. She has been a Fulbright Fellow, and published articles in peer reviewed journals, including the Journal of Democracy in Spanish, Latin American Politics and Society, Political Science and International Journal of Sociology.

Córdova has also written several book chapters for LAPOP reports, and co-author LAPOP’s 2006 and 2011 studies on Haiti. The 2011 study examines the impact of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti on citizens’ lives and perceptions. Electronic copies of the studies be found on LAPOP Web site.
