Wendy Freitag
Wendy Freitag currently serves as Washington Emergency Management Division’s external affairs manager overseeing the private sector collaboration, public education, and media affairs programs.
Wendy is a Microsoft and Washington Mutual Bank alum, having worked at each for more than four years in various positions including management oversight for global security, global and national crisis management, and business continuity programs.
Before working in the private sector, Freitag served for several years on disaster operations throughout the United States as a lead public affairs officer for the Federal Emergency Management Agency. She also served as a reservist for a short time with the American Red Cross.
Wendy serves on two academic institution Advisory Board—one at the University of Washington for the master’s program in Infrastructure Planning and Management—the other for the Institute for Global and Community Resilience at Western Washington University.Freitag is a frequent speaker at international, national, regional, and local conferences and workshops.
