Melanie GallMelanie Gall

Melanie Gall is an assistant professor and researcher in the Department of Geography and Anthropology at Louisiana State University. She is a hazards geographer with expertise in the quantification of social vulnerability, hazard mitigation planning, geospatial analysis, and impact assessments.

Gall combines geospatial technologies with social science methods to answer pertinent questions in hazards geography and emergency management. She has repeatedly conducted fieldwork in post-disaster environments like Haiti, Mozambique, and the U.S. Gulf Coast.

Her publications appear in journals such as Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society, Natural Hazards Review, Natural Hazards, Disasters, and Environment.
