Emma Apatu is a Doctor of Public Health candidate in the Department of Community and Behavioral Health at East Tennessee State University. Additionally, Miss Apatu is a graduate fellow in the East-West Center’s Asia Pacific Leadership Program in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Apatu’s research interests lie in theory driven research, health promotion program planning, and natural hazard resilience. Miss Apatu holds a Master of Public Health with concentrations in Health Education and Behavioral Science from Emory University. Over the past three years, Miss Apatu has served as the study coordinator for Chris Gregg’s National Science Foundation grant #0900662 aimed to investigate human response during the September 29, 2009 earthquake and tsunami that struck American Samoa using elements of the theoretical framework called the Protection Action Decision Model.
