Claudia Der-Martirosian is a research health scientist at the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Veterans Emergency Management Evaluation Center (VEMEC). Prior to joining VEMEC, she was a senior statistician at UCLA, UC San Diego, and UC Davis. She has over 15 years of research experience in quantitative research methods and her research experience includes one book publication and over 50 co-authored and first-authored publications in health related fields such as public health, quality of life, and medical education. She received her BS/BA in applied mathematics/sociology, MA and PhD in sociology, all from UCLA. At VEMEC, her research interests include household general preparedness, measures or indicators of hospital preparedness, and impact of Hurricane Sandy (Oct 2012) on health utilization at the VA.
