Annie Gebhardt is a Training Specialist at the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC), where she develops e-learning resources and provides technical assistance regarding sexual violence, with a focus on primary prevention. In 2012, she coordinated the completion of the NSVRC’s interactive online course, Sexual Violence in Disasters: Understanding the Scope of the Problem. She is currently developing a second course, Sexual Violence in Disasters: Developing a Plan for Sexual Violence Prevention and Response, to be released this Fall. Annie coordinates various NSVRC projects aimed at increasing awareness about the connections between disasters and sexual violence, and promoting collaboration among anti-sexual violence advocates, disaster managers, responders, researchers, and other allied professionals to prevent and respond to disaster-related sexual violence. She also facilitates the NSVRC’s internal work group on sexual violence in disasters.

Annie joined the movement to end sexual and intimate partner violence in 1999. Prior to joining the NSVRC, she worked with survivor advocacy and violence prevention programs in Ohio, New Hampshire, California, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. She holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of Michigan, and a bachelor’s degree in women’s studies and sociology from Oberlin College.
