Head ShotCarolyn Kousky

Carolyn Kousky is a fellow at Resources for the Future in Washington, D.C. She is interested in individual and societal understanding of, preparation for, and response to low-probability, high-consequence events. She has examined how individuals learn about extreme event risk, the demand for natural disaster insurance, and policy responses to a potential change in extreme events with climate change. She is also interested in the use of natural capital to reduce vulnerability to weather-related disasters. Kousky has a B.S. in Earth Systems from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in Public Policy from Harvard University.
