Tara Lambeth

Tara Lambeth grew up in the suburbs of Annapolis, Maryland. After high school, she moved to New York City, where she obtained two Bachelor of Arts degrees from New York University in Film and Television as well as Dramatic Writing. After a brief stint in the television production and publishing industries, she went on to get a Master of Science in City and Regional Planning from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. Her master’s thesis, titled Water-Based Planning in New Orleans: A New Strategy, explored stormwater management strategies in the city of New Orleans. Immediately after earning her master’s degree, she moved to New Orleans to pursue her interests in hazard mitigation planning and disaster studies. She is currently a doctoral candidate in Urban Studies at the University of New Orleans, where she is also a research assistant at UNO’s Center for Hazard Assessment, Response and Technology (UNO-CHART). She plans to finish her doctorate in the spring of 2016.
