Jack Rozdilsky is an assistant Professor of Emergency Management at Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. He is program coordinator for the emergency management academic program and he teaches a variety of courses in all-hazards, comprehensive emergency management. Dr. Rozdilsky’s research interests concern response to and recovery from natural hazards. Specifically, his research has brought him to Midwestern cities such as Greensburg (Kansas), Parkersburg (Iowa), and Harrisburg (Illinois) to explore how these places have adapted to their post-tornado circumstances. Prior to working in academia, he worked in the area of hazard mitigation as a land-use agent for the cooperative extension service in Michigan. Dr. Rozdilsky holds Bachelor of Science Degrees in Geology and Environmental Science from Bradley University, a Master of Arts Degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Illinois at Springfield, and a doctorate in interdisciplinary Resource Development and Urban Studies from Michigan State University.
