Lee Wilkins

Lee Wilkins is a former journalist whose research has included studies of media coverage of the Bhopal disaster, SARS, the 1993 mid-west floods, and most recently the ethical implications of media coverage of disaster. She and five colleagues have written the book, Reporting Disasters on Deadline, aimed at linking journalists and scholars with the goal of improving and deepening media coverage of disasters. She has taught journalism at the University of Missouri for the past 23 years and is currently in her first weeks of an appointment as communication department chair at Wayne State University.
