Co-Producing Knowledge for Disaster Risk Reduction: Housing, Climate, and Health in Florida

Research, Practice, and Policy Session
Sunday, June 14, 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. MDT
Location: Interlocken B

When community members are active in research, they can play a central role in developing locally specific, actionable disaster risk reduction strategies. This session will explore the implementation of community-led, agent-based modeling to better understand and predict the interconnected risks of housing conditions, climate stressors, and respiratory health for overburdened neighborhoods in Florida. Panelists will explore the ways community members have helped shape the creation, refinement, and outputs of the model with insights on how to better integrate community knowledge with analytical tools.
