From Research to Real-World Resilience: Coalitions for a Hazard Ready Nation

Panel Session
Monday, June 15, 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. MDT
Location: Centennial E

Federal agencies are seeking to better translate hazard science into actionable and proven tools to protect the people and things we value. This requires novel coalition building across government, industry, and academic sectors. The U.S. Geologic Survey’s Hazard Ready Nation strategy emphasizes a unified approach to risk communication, research, and product development across these sectors to put cutting-edge science to work. This panel will explore new ways of collaborating, identifying skillsets and knowledge bases that could enable grounded work to transform hazard science into tools that individuals, businesses, communities, and governments can use to make better informed decisions for risk reduction.
