Compiling and quantifying catastrophic loss data is incredibly complex, with widely varying approaches used across sectors. This session will convene international experts for a discussion of the different models, metrics, and analytic approaches that are used to estimate hazard losses. Panelists will explore how their processes align and differ, and the advantages and disadvantages of a unified approach. They will also examine gaps in current loss measurements, from complex health impacts and psychological trauma to erosion of culture.
