Partnerships for the Long Haul: Lessons From Disaster Recovery Groups
Panel Session
Monday, June 15, 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. MDT
Location: Interlocken A
Long-term recovery groups play a critical role in uniting organizations, coordinating resources and services, and supporting households most vulnerable to displacement and ongoing disruption from disasters. This session will focus on how these groups emerge and evolve in response to specific community needs, with a focus on trust-building and priority setting in complex recovery environments. Panelists will draw directly from their experiences studying and working with long-term recovery groups in the hazard-prone states of Texas and California, with insights on how collaboration within these groups can amplify overlooked voices and advance equity.
