Making progress toward disaster risk reduction demands a diverse and well-trained hazard and disaster workforce. This profession offers endless opportunities for meaningful work, but students and early career professionals may struggle to find their path in the field. This roundtable brings together experienced professionals from academia, local and state government, nonprofit organizations, and the private sector to share lessons learned from their own boundary-spanning careers. Attendees will exchange practical career advice, explore strategies for building inclusive professional networks, and identify opportunities to strengthen progress in disaster risk reduction by investing in people.
