Researchers Meeting Information

The Natural Hazards Center, in partnership with the International Research Committee on Disasters (IRCD), will convene a research meeting on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 17 and through the day on Thursday, July 18.

The 2019 Researchers Meeting will focus on the theme of interdisciplinary research, with a program that will identify pressing research needs, examine the experiences of those conducting interdisciplinary research, and foster discussions that approach topics using an interdisciplinary lens. The meeting will include plenary and breakout sessions for paper presentations and networking events for participants.

This meeting is open to all members of the hazards and disasters community.

Meeting Details

The Researchers Meeting will take place at the Omni Interlocken Hotel at 500 Interlocken Boulevard, Broomfield, Colorado. Those attending both the Natural Hazards Workshop and the Researchers Meeting can register and arrange accommodations for both events concurrently. Please visit this page for more details.

Rooms are available at the Omni Interlocken or Renaissance Flatiron Hotels, with shuttle service to the Omni. When booking, please indicate that you are making a reservation as part of the Natural Hazards Workshop.

Meals

A Wednesday evening reception, a light breakfast and a lunch on Thursday, and coffee breaks are included in the price of add-on meeting registration. Additionally, lunch on Wednesday afternoon will be held in the outdoor pavilion and is available for purchase. Please choose the Wednesday lunch on the registration form if you would like to participate.

Registration

Registration for the Researcher’s Meeting can be added to the Natural Hazards Workshop registration or at a stand alone rate. Both options are available through the Workshop Registration form.

Student: $100

The registration fee covers materials, facilities, a Wednesday evening reception, lunch on Thursday of the meeting, and coffee breaks.
