MJ Johns is a non-binary experience designer, game developer, researcher, and educator with a background in computer science and a decade of experience working with playful/immersive technologies. In 2016, Johns founded independent game studio Astire Games with the goal of using games (and game development) to make the world better. Astire Games focused on creating games for a positive impact. Currently, Johns is pursuing a PhD in computational media at the University of California Santa Cruz.
