Jon R. Wallace is Regional ESF-14 Long Term Community Recovery coordinator for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Disaster Assistance Division, Region VIII, in Denver, Colorado. His professional experience with FEMA includes service as regional voluntary agencies liaison, disaster recovery operations specialist, and disaster assistance employee. He has served in various roles in disaster recovery and human services administration with the federal government and in the nonprofit and faith-based sectors with the American Red Cross and The Salvation Army.   

Wallace’s experience includes service during the terrorist bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the 9/11 New York City World Trade Center attacks, Hurricane Katrina/Rita, the 2002 Colorado Wildfires, and other man-made and natural disasters in the last thirty years. Following the deadly Weld and Larimer County tornadoes of May, 2008, Mr. Wallace served as ESF-14 branch director, coordinating state and local representatives with federal partner agencies.

After many years of public service Jon began work on a Master of Divinity degree from the Iliff School of Theology in September 2008. He earned a master’s in social work from the University of Oklahoma in 1987 and is a certified social work manager. He resides in Denver, Colorado.
