Resilience in Different Regions and at Different Scales

Sun. 3:30-5:00 p.m., Centennial E

Research on and plans to enhance resilience have been undertaken on many different scales. Some efforts are community specific, some are based on particular geographic and demographic characteristics, and some are within or between states or regions. Panelists will explain specific approaches used to assess and enhance resilience in selected U.S. and international communities and regions, as well as discuss more general categories, such as rural, coastal, and earthquake resilience. Which of these divisions are meaningful, and at what scale—if any—can generalizations useful for research and practice be made?
