Patricia Grossi
Patricia Grossi, PE, PhD is the Director of Global Earthquake Modeling for Risk Management Solutions (RMS), Inc., based in Newark, California. In this role, Patricia is responsible for the strategic management of the RMS global earthquake modeling suite. Before this role, Grossi was the research director at RMS, managing the RMS research publications, which communicate the impacts of incorporating new scientific information into catastrophe models and the implications of disasters on risk management and decision-making. Before joining RMS in 2003, she was an assistant professor at Southern Methodist University’s Edwin L. Cox School of Business.Grossi has over 15 years of research experience in catastrophe modeling and risk management, and is a registered civil engineer in the state of California. She holds a BS in civil engineering and a PhD in engineering and risk management from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MS in structural engineering from Stanford University. In 2005, she co-edited and co-authored the book Catastrophe Modeling: A New Approach to Managing Risk.
