CabibiTaryn Hutchins-Cabibi

Taryn Hutchins-Cabibi works on Drought Planning and Climate Change for the Colorado Water Conservation Board. Hutchins-Cabibi conducts research and analysis on drought planning & implementation efforts; and provides technical assistance to water providers and users throughout Colorado in the development, implementation, and monitoring of drought mitigation planning programs, including managing the Colorado State Drought Mitigation and Response plan.

Hutchins-Cabibi also provides technical expertise in the coordination of the CWCB’s participation in regional efforts to develop hydrologic models that analyze the impacts of climate change on water resources and future demands. She is responsible for reviewing, researching and analyzing data necessary to develop approaches for quantifying and considering uncertainties and vulnerability in water resource planning & management, focusing primarily on climate change and implementation of water management strategies.

Before CWCB, Hutchins-Cabibi worked in the nonprofit sector seeking cost effective approaches to the balance between human water demands and protection of the natural environment. She has authored and co-authored numerous comparative analyses on western water issues in the urban sector. She has also worked with the US Environmental Protection Agency on climate change.

She holds a B.A. in Earth and Environmental Science from Wesleyan University, and a M.A. in Global Environmental Policy from American University.

When out of the office Hutchins-Cabibiis an avid skier and triathlete and enjoys traveling.
