Amy Luers is the Director of Climate Change at the Skoll Global Threats Fund (SGTF). She joined SGTF, after working at Google, where she started and co-led the development of a initiatives focused on information and communication technology for environmental monitoring, climate risk management, and science communication. Before joining Google, Amy headed the Climate Change Program for California office of the Union of Concerned Scientists. 

Luers started her career working on rural water resource development and management in Latin America.  She co-founded and was the former executive director of Agua Para La Vida (Water for Life), an NGO dedicated to bringing potable water to Latin American rural communities.

Luers has a PhD in environmental science and a master’s in international policy studies, both from Stanford University. She also holds a bachelor’s and a master’s in Environmental Systems Engineering from Humboldt State University and a bachelor’s in Philosophy from Middlebury College.
