Marcilyn Cianfarani
Marcilyn Cianfarani is currently employed as a Special Operations Paramedic for Toronto Emergency Medical Services and works in emergency preparedness for Ontario's Emergency Medical Assistance Team (EMAT). Marcilyn holds an HBSc from the University of Toronto and an MA in Disaster and Emergency Management from Royal Roads University, where she received the Founder's Award for outstanding leadership, sustainability, and development. She is the coordinator for the Gender and Disaster Network - North American Regional Hub and her research focus explores disaster risk reduction initiatives that support the resilience of LGBTQI2S (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, and two-spirited) people and households in Canadian disaster and emergency management.
