Allison BoydAllison Boyd

Allison Boyd is planning manager at CSA International, Inc. and specializes in hazard mitigation and disaster recovery planning for local and state government agencies. She currently manages the Post-Disaster Redevelopment Planning Pilot Program for the State of Florida. Her work on the program has included conducting research on long-term community disaster recovery and developing guidelines for local post-disaster redevelopment plans (PDRPs). She has authored PDRPs for Palm Beach and Hillsborough counties and is in the process of developing a PDRP for Sarasota County. Boyd has provided technical assistance in the development of four other PDRPs for other Florida counties, as well. She will be working on a guidebook this year that describes how to develop an inter-jurisdictional long-term recovery plan.

In addition, Boyd recently completed a response strategy for adaptation to sea level rise for Worcester County, Maryland, and is involved in a project integrating hazard mitigation and sea level rise adaptation into long-range transportation plans. She has been active in developing wildfire mitigation plans for a Florida county and city with histories of wildfire destruction and is beginning wildfire mitigation planning for Highlands County, Florida. That effort will focus on public education and participation coupled with a regulatory mitigation approach. Her previous work has included all-hazards mitigation planning and integration of hazard mitigation into land use planning.
