Amy Hyman has worked for Arkansas State University in the Department of Health Sciences and Risk Management since 2018, where she is an associate professor and the program director for the Disaster Preparedness & Emergency Management program. She earned her Doctor of Science in emergency management from Jacksonville State University in 2021. Prior to entering academia, she worked at a state-level emergency management agency, where she gained practical experience. Her research interests include risk communication, protective actions, risk perception, college student preparedness, and vulnerable populations.
