The National Hazard Mitigation Association (NHMA) is excited to host the 2026 Practitioners Meeting in collaboration with the Natural Hazards Center. This year’s event is scheduled for Thursday, June 18, 2026, following the Natural Hazards Workshop at the Omni Interlocken Hotel in Broomfield, Colorado.
Practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders are invited to share ideas for interactive sessions that emphasize collaboration to advance hazard mitigation. Submit an abstract to highlight your innovative projects, successful disaster recovery efforts, creative insurance and funding pathways, and more!

Key Sessions to Expect

The 2026 Practitioners Meeting will feature a diverse lineup of sessions covering critical topics in hazard mitigation including how to connect recovery to mitigation, funding to implement mitigation projects, the current mitigation landscape, and how to attract and build a workforce of mitigation professionals.

Meeting Details
Registration
Registration for the Practitioners Meeting can be added to the Natural Hazards Workshop registration or selected as a standalone event.
Registration will open in early 2026, and will include access to all Practitioners Meeting sessions, coffee and lunch on June 18, 2026. All attendees, including speakers and panelists, must register for the event.

Location
The 2026 Practitioners Meeting will take place at the Omni Interlocken Hotel at 500 Interlocken Boulevard, Broomfield, Colorado.
Accommodations
Rooms are available for purchase at the Omni Interlocken, Renaissance Flatiron, or Hilton Garden Inn Hotels. When booking, please indicate that you are making a reservation as part of the Natural Hazards Workshop.

Meals
Coffee breaks and a luncheon on June 18 are included in the price of registration.
