Support the Natural Hazards Workshop

Sponsorship

For more than 50 years, the Natural Hazards Center has planned and convened the Natural Hazards Research and Applications Workshop. Over the decades, the mission of the Workshop has remained much the same, even as the size and scope of the meeting has grown dramatically. As the meeting offerings have expanded, we’ve worked hard to keep meeting registration costs and room rates as low as possible. Even still, the expenses associated with carrying out the Workshop and the add-on meetings that we co-convene have grown precipitously. To make the meeting work financially, we rely on a combination of registration fees, grant and philanthropic funding, volunteer efforts, and donations.

Make a Contribution to Support the Workshop

If you have the capacity to give any amount, your contribution helps lower overall costs. We apply donations directly to meeting expenses to help others. For example, we’ve received gifts in the range of $50 to $5,000, which we then invest in offsetting expenses for things like student volunteer registration fees, coffee breaks for all participants, or audio/visual expenses to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.

If you are moved to make a donation, you can give directly to the Natural Hazards Center through the University of Colorado Boulder. We also welcome a conversation if you’d like to reach out directly to Lori Peek and Jennifer Tobin at workshop@colorado.edu. We’d love to talk to you about ways to give back to help sustain the Natural Hazards Workshop for decades to come.

Thank you for your time and support, always.
