Workshop Call for Ideas
We’re excited to announce that we are accepting submissions for the 2026 Natural Hazards Workshop through January 7, 2026!
We invite submissions related to this year’s theme—Stronger Together: Building Coalitions for Disaster Risk Reduction—as well as those focused on other pressing hazards or disaster topics.
Workshop Q&A Session
If you’re new to the Workshop or would like to learn more about this year's call for ideas, please register for Workshop Q&A Session on December 9, 2025 at 11:00 MST. We will discuss the history of the Workshop, the submission process, and additional ways to participate. For those that cannot attend this meeting live, it will be recorded and shared on this page.
Submission Process
Please click the blue box below to submit your proposals for plenary and concurrent panel sessions, research, policy, and practice sessions, TED-style talks, trainings, roundtables, and more. We welcome creative session ideas that are interactive and engaging, such as those with games or other hands-on activities.
All speakers are required to pay their own registration and travel expenses. Moderators and speakers will receive a $50 discount off full registration pricing. As an academic non-profit organization with limited resources, we cannot cover costs for speakers and other participants. Thank you for understanding.
As always, we’re eager to learn from you, and we’re thrilled to welcome you to your annual Natural Hazard Workshop in Broomfield, Colorado from June 14-17, 2026.
*If you work for an agency or organization that is currently shutdown or undergoing a transition and you need more time to submit, please email us at hazards.workshop@colorado.edu.
