Evangelyne Eliason is an undergraduate research assistant at the Natural Hazards Center and is pursuing a degree in psychology with a minor in political science and sociology at the University of Colorado Boulder. Her research interests involve investigating the intersection of race-based trauma with strategic institutional and systemic reform that supports diversity and inclusion of all people. Eliason is also heavily involved in student government at the university, where much of her work is geared towards promoting social justice, a theme that directly informs how she approaches research. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family of ten, writing poetry, and coming up with fun ideas for her emerging Youtube channel. Eliason’s long-term goal is to be a speaker and use her educational background to help both individuals and groups of people identify damaging patterns in their lives and potential solutions to remedy those outcomes.
