Jiwnath Ghimire is an assistant specialist at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. His expertise includes science-policy interface for disaster risk reduction, risk-sensitive land use planning, and transportation resilience. He uses spatial analysis tools and survey research to better understand disaster vulnerabilities in Asia-Pacific regions. He worked as a subject matter expert to develop and deliver training courses on risk-sensitive urban land use planning in Asia. His research focuses on U.S. territories, island countries, and South and Southeast Asia. He received his master's and PhD from the University of Hawaii.
