Yong Je Kim

Yong Je Kim is an assistant civil and environmental engineering professor at Lamar University. His research focuses on geotechnical engineering, with an emphasis on natural hazards, ground subsidence, and infrastructure resilience. Kim utilizes advanced remote sensing techniques such as interferometric synthetic aperture radar, global positioning system, and geographic information system to monitor and assess ground deformation in subsidence-prone areas, particularly in Southeast Texas. He collaborates with government agencies and industry partners to develop strategies for mitigating the impacts of natural hazards on critical infrastructure. Kim is dedicated to advancing knowledge and solutions for resilient and sustainable infrastructure.
