Slow Onset, Steady Change: How Drought Policy Is Evolving to Enhance Resilience

Much of the western United States has experienced drought conditions over the past several years. The intensity of those drought events is pushing the boundaries of our historical context. In response, and in an attempt to prepare for future events, local, state, and national decision makers have examined current drought policies to identify existing flexibilities and to find new opportunities to enhance resilience. This panel will explore some of these drought policy changes and discuss ideas for improvement.
