Shinwoo Choi is an assistant professor of social work at Texas State University. Her research explores the disaster management (preparation and recovery) of diverse and marginalized populations, including immigrants, refugees, low-income families, and individuals with health and mental health needs. Choi is involved in several interdisciplinary research projects to explore climate change, extreme weather events, and the community's coping.
