The Federal Emergency Management Agency is accepting comments on an off-cycle update of the Policy for Flood Risk Analysis and Mapping, which guides the Risk Mapping, Assessment, and Planning (Risk MAP) program. Proposed changes are related to rescinding and revising standards associated with Coastal Barrier Resources System data and are being put forward in collaboration with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Prediction of and Resilience against Extreme Events (PREEVENTS)

The Prediction of and Resilience against Extreme Events (PREEVENTS) program is accepting proposals for Track 2 projects. PREEVENTS-supported projects that promote the understanding of fundamental processes that underlie natural hazards and improve hazards modeling and forecasting. Track 2 proposals should address both of these goals, but not extend beyond what would be typically supported by core programs of the NSF Directorate of Geosciences.
