Aletha Spang is a geographic information system (GIS) specialist in the Department of Geography at Dartmouth College, where they teach labs for the GIS courses and consult on research projects. They hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Roger Williams University and a Master of Landscape Architecture and GIS certificate from the University of Colorado, Denver. Spang’s research projects have included urban tree canopy assessment, sea level rise, gentrification, and memorializing historical events through visual and spatial processes.
