Allison Madera is a doctoral student in the sociology department at the University of Colorado Boulder and a graduate research assistant at the Natural Hazards Center. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Tulane University where she studied sociology and minored in gender and sexuality studies. She received a master of arts in sociology from CU Boulder. Her research interests include disasters and marginalized populations, small business disaster recovery, gender and sexuality within the disaster context, environmental justice, and environmental social psychology.
