Chelsea Schelly

Chelsea Schelly received her PhD from the Department of Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is an associate professor of sociology in the Department of Social Sciences at Michigan Technological University. Her work explores how technological systems shape the organization of social life and conceptions of human-nature relationships. She’s researched and written about various alternative technologies and material systems, focusing on using community engagement and social science research tools to support decision-making that enhances community resilience.
