Daniel Aldrich

Daniel Aldrich is director of the Security and Resilience Studies Program and professor of political science and public policy at Northeastern University. Aldrich has published four books—Site Fights (2008), Building Resilience (2012), Resilience and Recovery in Asian Disasters (2014), and Healthy, Resilient, and Sustainable Communities (2015)—more than 36 peer-reviewed articles, and written op-eds for the New York Times, CNN, The Conversation, and many other media outlets. He has spent more than five years in India, Japan, and Africa carrying out fieldwork. His work has been funded by the Fulbright Foundation, the Abe Foundation, and the Japan Foundation.
