Dontá Council is an adviser on the community and economic development team at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Council leads a portfolio of research and engagement initiatives to identify the economic barriers and solutions for lower-and-moderate income workers, households, communities in the Southeast from ongoing climate-related risks. Council has a background in philanthropy, grantmaking, applied research, and community engagement working across a number of issues areas in communities across the Southeast including affordable housing, small business and entrepreneurship, workforce development, disaster preparedness and recovery, and financial inclusion. His research areas include disaster risk reduction, household decision-making, behavioral public policy, risk perception, social vulnerability, community resilience, risk management, community development, and wealth inequality.
