Eileen V. Segarra-Alméstica

Eileen Segarra-Alméstica specializes in the areas of public finance, labor economics, and economic development. She earned her PhD in economics from the University of California, Berkeley. She currently works as a professor in the Department of Economics, director of the Observatory of Public Education in Puerto Rico, and researcher at the Multidisciplinary Center for Government and Public Affairs Studies at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. There Segarra-Alméstica had also served as Graduate Program Coordinator and Department of Economics Chair. Her recent works address education policy, gender disparities, government decentralization, poverty, inequality, and vulnerability.
