Lu Zhang is an assistant professor in the Moss Department of Construction Management at Florida International University. She holds a PhD in civil engineering with a specialization in construction management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a master's of engineering degree in construction management from the University of Michigan, and a bachelor of management degree in construction management from Tongji University, China.
Zhang's research interests include sustainable building and infrastructure systems, disaster resilient built environments, human-building interactions, human-centered value analysis, building and civil information modeling, semantic information modeling, and smart building and infrastructure monitoring and analysis. She has received several research grants from a number of different agencies, including National Science Foundation, Florida Department of Transportation, Engineering Information Foundation, Accelerated Bridge Construction- University Transportation Center, and Natural Hazards Center.
