Nancy A. Brown

Nancy Brown is the community preparedness program manager for the Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management. This position is focused on increasing preparedness for individuals, families, businesses, and neighborhoods countywide. Originally from Southern California, Brown completed her PhD in emergency management at Massey University, Wellington, New Zealand. Her dissertation study combined the relatively new disaster science field with hospitality industry studies, community resilience, and organizational resilience studies. Before pursuing her doctorate, Brown worked at Disney Anaheim as the emergency preparedness coordinator for the resort hotels.
