Sara O'Connor

Sara O'Connor is the associate director of the GeoSpatial Analysis for Community Engagement Lab and a lecturer in the California State University Long Beach Geography Department. Her research focuses on community engagement in authoritarian space and disaster preparation, mitigation and response employing community-engaged research methods. O'Connor’s current research, supported by the National Science Foundation, International Business Machines, and the Long Beach Center for Urban Politics and Policy, focuses on community engagement in urban development and disaster preparedness.
