Preparations for the 51st Annual Natural Hazards Research and Applications Workshop are underway, and we’re thrilled to come together around the 2026 theme—Stronger Together: Coalitions for Disaster Risk Reduction.
The goal of this year’s Workshop is to identify how we can unite more people around the cause of disaster risk reduction. Attendees will learn about the pathways to building and sustaining coalitions as well as measurable outcomes that have resulted from these efforts.
Submit Your Ideas Now
Your ideas help us to build the Workshop program. We’re seeking proposals for creative, engaging sessions related to this year’s theme or other pressing hazards and disaster topics. Please visit the online submission form to offer ideas for plenary and concurrent panels, Ted-style talks, trainings, networking roundtables, and more!
As always, the Workshop planning team will build the Workshop program with submissions that reflect the diverse perspectives and wide-ranging expertise of our community.
Join Us for a Workshop Q&A
If you’re new to the Workshop or would like to learn about the theme and call for ideas, please register for a virtual Q&A session on December 9, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. MST. We’ll discuss the history of the Workshop, describe the submission and review process, and answer your questions.
