Educational Options for Passing Along Disaster Knowledge

Research on disasters is multidisciplinary but there has been little effort to standardize the body of disaster knowledge into an undergraduate curriculum. Although Emergency Management programs are growing and show some leadership potential, for the most part, an overarching curriculum based in sociology and geography has not been created. This session will examine this critical topic as well as how disaster knowledge is most effectively carried forward.
